Preferring “NewsBlur” to anything else. It’s clumsy and makes extra work to move around but doesn’t feel boxed by the mass hysteria of tall, skinny sans-serifs and upselling content.
* edit #20130630: bought a month of Feedbin as well, to keep Reeder working.
Looking at my phone. Subway platform. RSS. Late news of Jem Cohen’s talk yesterday. Opinions of engineers. Photographs of Nazi flags hanging from tenement balconies. I kept reading as the G arrived, but looked up with the bell announcing closing doors. Saw my reflection in the tempered glass; my hair was a mess. A moment of comparison with all those clean German lines.
And there was Jem, sitting on a sideways seat. The smallest possible city. A wave. And then his train was out the station.
Not even sure how many days in, but seriously committed to a book diet and a twitter break.
No new books, though I’ve been given one ebook of a book I already had, and one magazine for a project ongoing.
Deleted the Instagram app (though I still see notifications) and all the Twitter apps (though direct messages still turn to emails) and so it is.
Aiming for boredom and for chewing what I’ve already bit.
