Could not be happier for having biked to Red Hook.
A semi-random retweet led me to a preview of an Ernesto Caivano show. I nearly didn’t leave the house, but did. The short bike ride restored me and (finally) connected me to the nearness of Red Hook. As soon as I arrived, I spied a piece by Thomas Beale and then the face of Adriana Atema. She played piano while I spent time with the work.
And now I’m headed uptown where Liars are playing the Met museum’s temple of Dendur. I’d wanted since January to find a ticket for that, especially after tomorrow’s show was moved from the masonic lodge to le Poisson Rouge — from seemingly nowhere, Erik Carter saw me on IM and said he had a spare.
Out the door. Living in New York. May is the best.

It’s May and I’m still playing Vesper.5 as often as I remember to. Patched it into an AppleScript that also opens Adium, Skype, GrowlVoice, and nvALT. My ritual of opening those things which signal the start of work and an openness to the world.
